Look at the 4 options you have here and tell me what you think LOGICALLY the choice should be?
A: You choose Red - 51% of people choose red - you live, blue people die.
B: You choose Red - 49% of people choose red - you still live, blue people saved you.
C: You choose Blue - 51% of people choose red - you die, red people live.
D: You choose Blue - 49% of people choose red - you live, red people live.
Red = Live/Live
Blue = Die/Live
Now, theres only ONE option where you die here - and thats choosing blue when the majority of people chose red.
THE OTHER THREE OPTIONS you live no matter what. And out of those 3, ONE *REQUIRES* other people to INSTICTIVELY think like you.
So by choosing blue, in any capacity, youre RELYING on others to think and feel exactly like you. Youre taking some sort of virtue signaling high ground (because no one KNOWS which button you hit - unless you take a POLL ANNOUNCING IT 😏), some altruistic view to make you feel better about the outcome("I saved everyone by pressing blue" or "I might die but I chose the RIGHT button!"🙄), whatever it may be.
Choosing red, no matter what, means you live, regardless of the outcome.
So the question ISNT "Do you care about others or yourself?", but RATHER, "Which button guarantees your survival?"
And the answer to that, unequivocally, is the red button.
Regardless on how you FEEL about it.
Thank you for coming to my TEDtalk.
Everyone in the world has to take a private vote by pressing a red or blue button. If more than 50% of people press the blue button, everyone survives. If less than 50% of people press the blue button, only people who pressed the red button survive. Which button would you press?
