If LeCun’s idea of true AI = physical AI is worth $10B
Then I’d argue that Tesla valuation should 10X overnight, since they have more physical data AND real physical AI experience.
And I’d still probably be undervaluing it. Because they also have their own LLM.
It’s hard not to oversell how undervalued Tesla is.
Based on available estimates, Yann LeCun's net worth is around $5-10 million as of 2026, much from his 13 years at Meta (since 2013). Exact comp isn't public, but similar roles suggest $1M annually in salary/stock.
The "1bn hires" likely refer to Meta's offers of up to $1B multi-year packages to poach top AI talent (e.g., from ex-OpenAI staff).
Resentment is possible but purely speculative.
