New #AdobeXD update is dope, finally an easy way to create circular progress bars within XD, thanks @AdobeXD team! Just set border gap to the perimeter (pi*width, pi=3.14), then for the gap multiply the perimeter value by the percentage you want in decimal form e.g. 30% = 0.3

Tired: code or canvas Wired: code AND canvas Introducing Claude Code to Figma

The biggest L in the whole @anthropic vs. @opencode situation is that they’ve just radicalised the entire @anomalyco team and the supporting OSS community. They’re going to expedite an equivalent product, @OpenCode Black, we will all switch and when new models from other providers get released (inevitable) our token usage will switch. Models are not sticky and this action is an admission to that.

Yesterday we tightened our safeguards against spoofing the Claude Code harness after accounts were banned for triggering abuse filters from third-party harnesses using Claude subscriptions.

cloudflare is right about ai companies paying for scraped content. they're not aggregating, they're reselling. different business model, different economics.

model lock-in is different from cloud lock-in because your lock-in target moves every few months. the best model today isn't the best model in march.

it's not just using an abstraction layer. it's: how much context do you have baked into prompts? how tool-specific are your workflows? can you even test a different model without rewriting your system prompts?

tech acting only when it is both politically safe to do so, and unsafe not to, due to election results, shows weakness, not strength... it shows they have a healthy fear of political power: now in new hands It would be a flex if they’d acted when there *wasn’t* a political shift

Trying to start this year off productively, I've been working on a new project to explore the data behind the FGC. Starting with a simple way to compare games, hopefully this can be useful to some of you out there openfgc.com

2020 managed to get one last hit in 😔 RIP MF DOOM

So smash.gg has been acquired by MS, and I'm seeing some weird takes. This is a *good* thing for the FGC. Smash as a company was doomed, but instead we'll get more resources towards improving the platform, mobile experience, APIs, and have FGC history protected.

Three highly effective vaccines developed already... Got me feeling optimistic about what small teams can accomplish for society in times of failing governments.

Just ordered a drawing tablet. I haven't drawn anything in probably a decade, but let's see how this goes 🙃

While I do think WiFi indicators are a necessary addition, they make me feel bad for players who don't have the option of ethernet. Their online experience is undoubtedly going to be made worse because of this, so it's worth being mindful that this comes at a cost to the FGC.

An interesting side effect of the WiFi indicators is that it incentivise players to connect via ethernet, so the active player base with reliable connections is expanded

Still not sure what to make of the smashgg rumours, and their response didn't inspire much confidence, but it's a good reminder to be cautious of any venture backed companies in esports. Don't let your events/projects become reliant on them.

For anyone considering an RTX 3070/80, just be mindful of the criminally low amounts of VRAM - especially important at high resolutions. Variants with higher VRAM are expected to launch later this year.
