This morning, I captured another image of Comet C/2023 A3 (Tsuchinshan-ATLAS) from the @LCOAstro site in the Atacama Desert, Chile 🇨🇱✨😱. The view was absolutely stunning !!! The comet is clearly visible visually. My gear: Nikon D810a camera with a 135mm lens. The crescent Moon rising above the mountain ridge in the Chilean Andes. I captured this image from Carnegie Las Campanas Observatory as the rising Moon was glowing in the twilight. Such a beautiful view! It reminds me why we keep doing astronomy :)

Today, clouds rolled in and we witnessed a spectacular sun halo over the Magellan Telescopes at Carnegie’s Las Campanas Observatory in the Atacama dessert in Chile ☀️ The halo appears as a circular ring of light around the Sun (~22° radius), formed when sunlight is refracted through hexagonal ice crystals in high-altitude cirrus clouds.

‼️Extremely intense airglow lighting up the sky tonight over Las Campanas Observatory in the Atacama desert in Chile. We don’t have the luxury of observing auroras here like @Vincent_Ledvina does from Alaska, but sometimes our skies still fire up with spectacular colorful emissions (though at much lower intensity) ! 😃✨

The Milky Way rising above the Local Volume Mapper (LVM) at the Carnegie Las Campanas Observatory in the Atacama Desert, Chile 🇨🇱 LVM is an SDSS-V survey designed to produce the first contiguous, sub-parsec map of ionised gas in the Milky Way and its neighbours. I captured this image when the Southern Cross was just aligning above the building, together with Alpha and Beta Centauri.

Blue Moon over The Cruz del Cerro Renca in Santiago, Chile 🇨🇱 We planned, we tried, we failed :) This is one of the examples when you still need to go for a shot even if you are not completely sure. In this particular case there were some uncertainties about the precise location of the cross, but it turned out the cross itself was the challenge.

The Zodiacal light above the Pacific Ocean. I obtained this image with my Samsung S25 Ultra smartphone from the Atacama Desert in Chile 🇨🇱 The amount of details captured by the phone is truly impressive, showing how far smartphone astrophotography has come. The Sun ☀️ setting behind Gran Torre Costanera @skycostanera in Santiago, Chile 🇨🇱 This building stands as a prominent landmark in the city. The result didn’t disappoint 👍 It was a spectacular scene to witness ! The wide dynamic range was managed with a Baader Solar filter, and the camera’s memory is powered by @angelbirdmedia.

The Harvest Moon rises over the highest peak in the Americas: Cerro Aconcagua (6,961 m) in the Andes Mountains near Santiago, Chile 🇨🇱 I planned this shot using the Planit Pro app, positioning the camera approximately 94 km from the mountain for this composition. It was quite an experience: I found myself surrounded by a pack of dogs on location, but fortunately, it all worked out well 😅 The camera's memory is powered by @angelbirdmedia
