This #EarthDay 🌍, @HDRUNDP spotlighted 5 inspiring young changemakers from Paraguay, Papua New Guinea, Jordan, Nigeria, and Viet Nam. From restoring biodiversity and reimagining cities, to advancing clean energy, digital inclusion, and community-led conservation, their work moves beyond awareness into real systems change. When young people are empowered, they don’t just participate in solutions; they help redesign them. The impact of their initiatives and aspirational approach they take today will help shape renewed pathways where people and the planet thrive together. 🌱🌳 @UNDP's forthcoming Human Development Report 2026 (#HDR2026) explores how human aspirations, agency, and reciprocal human–nature relationships shape development pathways for the future. 👉 Read the full story here: hdr.undp.org/content/our-pow…

The report captures something very essential: youth in Asia and the Pacific are no longer waiting to be invited into climate governance—they are already shaping it, but the systems must evolve to create real pathways for young persons into decision-making. Through the Swedish partnership with @UNDPasiapac and ‌YECAP and the Regional Youth Parliament on Climate Action over 4,000 young members of parliament, civil servants, and advocates have been trained in climate governance and negotiation. This aligns closely with Sweden’s priorities: to support well-functioning democratic institutions, an inclusive green transition, and strengthened participation of women and youth. 📷: ESCAP
