We’re honoured to welcome a very special member of the YSM community as our Opening Ceremonies speaker at this year’s Winter Walk. 💙 Born and raised in Toronto and growing up in Regent Park, Rafi Matin was first introduced to YSM through our Computer Literacy Centre in elementary school — a program that would become a life-changing part of his journey. After years as a student, Rafi returned to YSM as a volunteer, then a teacher, and today he leads our high school and advanced programming courses, helping the next generation build skills, confidence and opportunity through technology. Beyond YSM, Rafi is a neuroscience graduate and now a research assistant at The Hospital for Sick Children. He's also a proud Leafs' fan! Rafi's story is a powerful reminder of what’s possible when community comes together. We can’t wait for you to hear from him before our walk begins at 4:00 pm on February 7.
