šŸ“‹GREEN LINE REPORT CARDāļø With all the info and misinformation flying around out there, we decided to set the record straight. The plans put forward by the City of Calgary are the ONLY viable options. Anything else is just a sideshow distractionšŸ¤”šŸŽŖ. šŸ„‹CHOOSE YOUR FIGHTER!

The elevated Green Line alignment insisted upon by the Province now exceeds the cost of the tunneled downtown alignment from Sheppard to Eau Claire. courtneywalcott.com/council_…

Let's not forget how in July, Councillors Sharp and McLean voted AGAINST the underground #GreenLineYYC alignment downtown. āŒThey ignored Calgarians. šŸ’°They voted how a handful of elitists told them to vote. 🤔They voted how the UCP told them to vote. projectcalgary.org/council_k…
Councillor McLean and I fought to keep the Green Line alive last fall, and again in January. Cancelling it would've cost Calgarians at least $850M in contract penalties, wasted $1.4B already spent, lost billions in funding from other orders of government, and wiped out 1,000 local jobs. Is it perfect? No. But we’d rather lay track than waste taxpayer dollars on nothing.Ā  Pending approval from the provincial and federal governments, the next steps will be breaking ground in the south this year, plus starting to engage with business owners and residents downtown to refine the plan. After more than a decade of debate, and some questionable decisions from past Councils (like buying cars before laying track), it’s time to shift from talk to action. #yyccc #GreenLineYYC

To my fellow Calgarians and Ward 3 residents, Last night, I announced that I will not be seeking re-election in October 2025. This decision came after last night’s decision on Green Line LRT and much deliberation with my family. It’s been an absolute pleasure to represent Ward 3 in City Hall over the past three years. Despite setbacks from the pandemic, we’ve made great progress on some of the city’s biggest strategic challenges. From zoning reform and the tax shift to making transit free for kids under 12 and record investments in affordable housing, I’m incredibly proud of what I’ve been able to accomplish. At the Ward level, we advanced the Nose Creek Park Strategy together, renovated the Sandstone MacEwan Rink and got a record number of Traffic Safety improvements installed. None of this could have been done without the advocacy and support of my residents. You make Calgary a great place to live and it’s been a pleasure getting to know so many of you. I’d like to thank my amazing team, Briana & Sarah, for their endless support and dedication to Ward 3. I couldn’t have accomplished this without you, and the many others who supported my candidacy. Politics is a difficult work environment, but I hope my fellow citizens consider putting their names forward to represent our city. Public service is a noble pursuit, and we need thoughtful leaders of all backgrounds around the decision-making table. I’d like to end by thanking my council colleagues for their leadership, and to the many employees of the City of Calgary. I am convinced we have the hardest working civil service in the country, and it’s been a pleasure to work alongside you. I don’t know what the future holds for me, but I’ve learned a great deal in this chapter of my leadership journey and look forward to serving our city in new and exciting ways. #yyccc #yyc

🤠 Calgarians are united in opposition to 'reckless' "Dreeshen Drawing" elevated alignment through Beltline and downtown. Residents, businesses small and large, real estate and property developers are united in opposing the disastrous "Dreeshen Drawing" plan.

City Council made a critical mistake in approving the province’s Green Line plan. An elevated LRT through our downtown ignores businesses, property owners & public safety — risking the future of our core. This is not the right choice for Calgary. I’ll have more to say later today & in days to come.

For those trying to understand the incompetence of the UCP Government here's the gist of what happened today: The Province told City Council to vote for the more expensive $7.5-billion "Dreeshen Drawing" or lose $3-billion in provincial and federal funding.

This is a shameful day for the province. We are spending billions on a line that no one will ride and admitting that their elevated alignment is impossible and never will be built.Ā  The Green Line LRT was supposed to connect Calgary’s communities, making it easier for people to get to work, school and medical appointments. The Danielle-Devin Disaster takes us from a parking lot to an arena. When I am Premier, an Alberta NDP government will build the full Green Line LRT from North through downtown to the Southeast.
