I have been re-reading @prof_suma’s Jesus Loves Japan in my MA class. It is such a great book! Also probably one of the best prologues I have ever read in a scholarly monograph.
#RSPresponse Ioannis Gaitanidis (@YanisuG) responds to our ep w/ Mitsutoshi Horii. Gaitanidis highlights Horii's analysis of the public benefit-aspect of religion in Japan & pushes further our deconstructive analyses for the critical study of religion.

Congratulations to Kie Nishizaka(@28Remerciement ), on publishing her first scholarly paper (based on the MA thesis that I co-supervised). She examines how the Jaina community in Japan negotiate their food habits bit.ly/3iR3wMp
Btw, there is much in Kie’s paper that could be analysed using the framework set up by Kolata and Gillson in their fascinating recent paper on the role of food literacy in religious belonging. brill.com/view/journals/nu/6…
