Bellinger is a Scott Boras client. And negotiating with Scott Boras is a nightmare. Here’s David Samson (ex Marlins President) explaining what the process is like:

Look at the leading votes getter for 1B. This is why the All Star game is meaningless.

The mandatory hydration breaks are ridiculous. Completely wrecks the flow of the game and it’s just an excuse for advertising and commercials.

I really like Max Schuemann. He’s a valuable utility bench piece.

This can’t continue on anymore. Unplayable.

What happened to Gallen? He use to be an under 4 ERA guy for most of his career until last season. Is he washed?

Thanks for the postseason magic but don’t let the door hurt you on the way out.
Giancarlo Stanton tweaked his calf while running bases this week and could be looking at further imaging, per @BryanHoch

Year after year of injuries with this guy. When you need him most his body completely falls apart. Can’t wait until they are out of Stanton’s contract. A one dimensional player who can only swing the bat is not good for the team.

*IF* the Padres decide to deal Tatis he would become a very intriguing trade candidate for the Yankees Yankees are borderline to lefty heavy right now, Jazz is a FA after this season you and could slot him in the OF or IF, & Stanton is off the books soon

Do I think the Padres trade him? Probably not it depends on how soon they want out of the contract. Could play him at 2B and OF and occasionally fill in at SS if needed. Seems pretty valuable and with Stanton off the books he could take over that RHB presence once he leaves.

Stats although helpful, don’t take into account the full picture. Great example here.
Jazz Chisholm's bat speed is down, oh no! Why? He started using Aaron Judge's bat, which is heavier. Something we don't consider with swing metrics...

In all seriousness what does Volpe do well?
Volpe throws it away on an infield single

Managerial malpractice to do this to your best shortstop in favor of Volpe

The Guardians defense has been atrocious this series. It may bail us out today.

The way the Yankees handle the playing time of their rookie and younger players (not named Anthony Volpe) is a disaster. They often times opt to use them as platoon players & the “start and sit” game they play with their young players wrecks their development & hot swing.

How is a rookie supposed to improve against LHP if you never give him reps and immediately make him a platoon player? #SpencerJones

Have to make sure Volpe gets his reps at SS instead of Cabby though…can’t sit the golden boy. I’d much rather take my chances with Jones left on left than with that bum Anthony Volpe.

Welcome to the big leagues Spencer Jones 💣💣
Play Spencer Jones daily, I don't care about the splits or matchups. Get him reps and play him every single day. Give him a fair chance to shine.

14.9% of the pitches Spencer Jones has seen have been 98 MPH. It’s the highest rate in MLB.
