She was a fighter till the end. She left us at home this morning.

Brix stayed stable today. Please still send prayers for him to get better. Know we love you and your family, Brix. 🙏🙏❤️❤️🐾🐾
Brix had a plateau day.
He hasn’t gone backwards which is amazing, but he didn’t improve much over this morning.
He is still at a 2/4 for breathing - sometimes a 2 which is better than a 4/4 yesterday morning.
He is eating from us, and sits up and moves around.
We were hopeful today he could get even stronger but it wasn’t the case.
He is still doing good and we are still cautiously optimistic

Prayers still needed for Brix, thank you but better news. So happy for this beautiful kitty and family. ❤️❤️
We went in to see Brix and tell him we love him and WOW he is doing better. The treatment must have kicked in.
We have to temper our expectations because he isn’t out of the woods yet, and still breathing hard, but he is up and moving around and ANGRY! He wants out!
Hopefully in the morning we can have even better updates.

Thank you all for the kind words today, words of support and prayer.
It’s been an awful awful day and shocking that Brix got so sick so quickly.
Our hearts are just so broken for him.
He is our little sweet guy and we love him so much.
But Brix is still alive, and still fighting.
He hasn’t given up and we won’t either.
For those wondering - his blood work shows little to no elevation for any kind of infection, yet his X-rays show crud in the back of his lung. This is why the vet team is thinking acute asthma from some kind of allergic reaction.
He has to survive first before we worry about what might have triggered it.
The good news is that he appears to be responding slightly to the steroids, and his heart rate is back to near normal. His O2 is also ok, but he is still breathing so hard. We won’t post a video of it because it’s heart wrenching.
We are going in to visit him one more time before bed. He knows it’s us and moves to greet us, but he’s just so sick. 💔

Last week’s test post had SO many questions my tail almost flew off from all the wagging! We couldn’t get to everyone, so this week I’m choosing a few extra-interesting ones (or topics the world desperately needs to hear) plus 5-10 random ones depending on how many treats I’ve earned.
If I don’t get to your question this Monday, please don’t look at me with those sad puppy eyes! Just drop it again next week; I’m a very good girl but I only have so many brain cells and they’re mostly used for “where’s the cheese?”

No big improvements yet, but Brix is still fighting. He has definitely improved since 11 this morning but not as much in the last 3 hours.

Poor Brix 💔
Kris and I are sick with worry.
Brix’s condition deteriorated overnight and he is now struggling to breathe.
Diagnostic tests point towards asthma (which I guess is really common in young cats and would explain the crud in his lungs) but also towards pneumonia.
It is less likely it is pneumonia as he doesn’t have a raging infection.
The scary thing is the treatment for one makes the other worse and he is very sick right now.
We went with the vet team’s recommendation to treat for asthma.
It was very hard to see our previous Brix so sick and fighting for his life- it is something many pet parents go through.

Please help and pray for sweet Brix.
Need healing prayers and thoughts for poor Brix and hoping that they can find out what is wrong 😢🙏🙏🙏❤️❤️
Kris and I should keep everyone in the loop about Brix who got very sick late last night.
In hindsight Brix had been acting off since about noon, but by 930 we knew something was really wrong.
He was sluggish, lethargic, and breathing hard. He also let out a very sad yowl when I picked him up and was limp in my arms.
We rushed into the pet hospital (which we literally were at hours before with Bernoulli and Beaker to donate blood)
Thankfully, his blood work came back normal.
There was however some worrying discolouration on his lungs.
We decided to leave Brix overnight as they will observe him and wait for a radiologist to check his Xray.
It is likely he has the start of pneumonia from aspirating something into his lungs, which is treatable.
This is also a reminder to everything to think about getting pet insurance for their pet. Brix has pet insurance which will cover around 90% of the bill.

Annie had another seizure last night at 1:10am. This one was quite short then others and longer time in between last one. Neuro food helps. After a few minutes she went outside, fell asleep. 😴
This morning she is back to her old self.
Squeaking her toy in her crate and greeted me at door. 💕
It’s been 5 weeks to day of last one. Too intermittent to put on meds according to Vet. He’s the best vet.
Just harder on Mom. 😔
Any good thoughts and prayers so appreciated. ❤️🙏❤️🐾🐾
