Very privileged to have been a judge for the Young ICT Explorers @YoungICTExplore on the weekend on behalf of @SAPANZ. The submissions were innovative and engaging - the presenters so impressive!
Update: the @YoungICTExplore awards ceremony was held via zoom this afternoon, and one of the teams (the grade 5s) got 3rd place for their noise monitor project!
For a few years I've been mentoring the grade 5/6 students at my local East Brisbane State School helping them develop technology projects for the @YoungICTExplore program. I wanted to share a recent experience.

🧐 STEM Teacher…
I have been thinking a lot about this term lately as it seems to be increasingly popular.
If you call yourself a STEM [STEAM/STREAM etc.] teacher what learning area/s do you teach/report on according to the curriculum? #PrimarySTEMChat
Yes, so true. I have managed to have my students participate in the @YoungICTExplore competition, focused on creating a meaningful solution to a problem they care about using digital tech... I think perhaps I was too optimistic that I could do more! #PrimarySTEMChat
My students have made the most amazing worlds currently for their @YoungICTExplore entries... I will have to wait until after to share them. :) #PrimarySTEMChat
They look super relaxed but the students in ICT Club are working hard to prepare entries for the @YoungICTExplore competition! 💻📱🎮I am quite impressed with their ideas 💡and can’t wait to see where they take them! #PrimarySTEMChat
