The El Jefe line was hysterical and classic Popovich, but it was this moment that stood out to me most and got me emotional: Pop shared that Manu and Duncan attended every one of his workout sessions at the Spurs training facility since his stroke ❤️ (h/t @spurs)
Gregg Popovich’s complete comments in his first press conference since his stroke as he passes the torch off to Mitch Johnson. ❤️ Pop forever #ElJefe 🐐 (h/t @spurs)

Victor Wembanyama (in French) is asked what he is looking to improve on over the summer: 🇫🇷: Victor, after these Finals, what do you want to improve the most this summer? On the court or off the court, what area of improvement have you identified for yourself before next season? 👽: I'm going to work even harder, obviously, to be even more durable and, above all, to keep a fresh mind and maintain control of the game at all times. That's what really stands out about Jalen Brunson, for example. There are too many moments—and it doesn't come from bad intentions—but there are too many moments where I'm passive, where I don't have the control over the game that I'd like to have, and it ends up costing us. #GoSpursGo #PorVida
Victor Wembanyama (in French) says he wasn’t ready to win a ring yet and made too many mistakes: 🇫🇷: Victor, first of all, congratulations on your season and your team's season. Looking back at the series, Mitch said just before that he felt you weren't ready to win a championship and that the other team was. Do you agree with that? And what exactly do you think was missing in this series? 👽: Obviously. Obviously we weren't ready. I wasn't ready to win a ring. That's obvious. I think in terms of desire to do well, intensity and effort, we were at a good level. I was at a good level. But experience... it's mistakes. We don't lack talent, we don't lack ability, we just make too many mistakes. And I make too many mistakes. #GoSpursGo #PorVida

Had a chance to visit w/#Knicks legend Patrick Ewing... On Victor Wembanyama: "I love him." On beating the #Spurs: "The last time...Tim and David were having a party against us, (now) it's ours..." "In '99, I had tears of sorrow, today I have tears of joy" ⬇️Full conversation

Wemby’s first playoff run: 24-11 on 61% TS with 5 stocks per game. 26 ppg in the Finals. The team was 16.5 points better with him on vs off in the playoffs. In the Finals they were 8 with him on and -20 with him off. For a 22 year old, that’s going to get an A from me.

Spurs brain dump after that excruciating Finals: To lead for 72% of the minutes in the series, then surrender the #1, #3 and #6 biggest comebacks in NBA Finals history en route to a 1-4 elimination is nauseating.

If we stick at No. 20 in the draft, a legit PF with a jumper who can also moonlight at center in certain matchups to provide an alternative to Kornett is a big need. • Chris Cenac | 6’11” | Houston • Henri Veesaar | 7’0” | UNC • Koa Peat | 6’8” | Arizona

Can’t wait for next season to start. I expect Fox to be back, and I’ll be very interested to see how the backcourt dynamic shakes out and if De’Aaron will accept a 6th-man role as a supermax player. Championship or bust next season. Learn from this heartache. Go Spurs Go
