Yeah these games were so boring
All four World Cup games today are going to be draws. I enjoy soccer, but this is clearly one of the reasons many Americans are bored by this sport.

I’m going to a game next week with 5 others. It would cost $588 to take the train together. Even the absurd $225 price to park at the stadium is a fraction of the cost of us all taking rail. Absolutely moronic decision making.
The shuttle buses from Midtown to MetLife Stadium for the World Cup cost $20. NJ Transit trains cost $98. Ubers are cheaper. The shuttle buses are sold out. NJ Transit has sold fewer than half its allocated train tickets. gothamist.com/news/fifa-sell

didn’t think it was possible but Infantino is worse than Blatter
Exclusive: Donald Trump will be allowed to lift the World Cup trophy with the winning team, as he did at the Club World Cup. Trump will present the 2026 champions with the trophy on July 19 at MetLife Stadium alongside FIFA President Gianni Infantino.🏆 talksport.com/football/world

Because Los Angeles isn’t a real city it’s a collection of big towns
Why does NYC have their weird “who is REALLY a New Yorker?” discourse but in Los Angeles you can call yourself an Angeleno after living there for 9 months and no one cares

every time i read a tweet from one of yall im reminded that this is the case. and then it all makes sense
So the Boston stadium is actually closer to providence, RI than Boston but the New Jersey residents are mad that MetLife has been renamed New York/New Jersey Stadium for the World Cup
 okay

USWNT had a decade head start on every other program because Europe didn’t realize women could play sports until Bend It Like Beckham
wait omg the men have a US national team too?? that’s so cute
when did that start? it must’ve been recent huh
that’s why they have no stars on their crest? that’s the reason right? was that one of those title ix things where they had to add a men’s version to be “equitable”?

something that stands out the morning after the knicks won is how cool it is that every key piece had at least a big moment sometime during the finals

The reactions to Disclosure Day say a lot about what people pay attention to in a film as well as what they are either completely oblivious to
I honestly think if Disclosure Day didnt have Spielberg name attached it'd be getting similar reviews to this years Mercy. They aren't that different of films

Draymond Green has a 4-year $100 million contract
Draymond Green blasts $100,000 NBA fines: “This job ain't set up for us to be wealthy” “The amount of money we get fined for the things that we do, that shit don't happen in Corporate America” “You get fined $50,000 because you say something somebody don't like. 50 grand, that's real money. 100 grand. ‘Oh, he only got fined 100 grand.’ The fines to me don't make sense” “As hard as we work to accumulate wealth, coming from situations that most people never make it out. Then you get fined the way we get fined. It's actually not set up for us to be wealthy after we're done playing” "The way we're taxed, the way we're fined, this job ain't never been set up for us to be wealthy after we're done playing”

no it wasn’t.
I know Paraguay, homefield, etc. but that was literally the best half of World Cup soccer for the USMNT in 96 years.

US got a gift by opening against Paraguay but with the team finally close to healthy they’re now playing their best soccer since the Poch hire

these commercials during hydration breaks are such a cheap, crass way to undermine a big part of what makes soccer so great on TV
