ATX Writing Club turned 1 year old yesterday! 🎉 Over 423 writers, entrepreneurs, bloggers, podcasters, and doodlers have joined us over the past year. And they've been some of the kindest and most creative people I've met in Austin. If you're curious what writing club is about, and would like to join us on FEB 15th at 10am..... Let me know! 💌

Does anyone have a really cool house, or awesome event venue in Austin? I have $7,500 that's burning a hole in my pocket. Here's what I'm looking for: 1️⃣ A truly unique place 2️⃣ October 26th, and 27th 3️⃣ 6pm-midnight on both days 4️⃣ Must be able to fit 150 people 5️⃣ Would like indoor outdoor options And to add a little bit more zest to my request.....🍋 If the event rocks, I'd like to do the same thing in November as well! If you live in Austin, and know of any truly unique places... ....or you just have a super rich friend with a swanky house who wants to make $7,500 in a weekend... Let me know!

I'm hosting a writing club this Saturday at 10am in Austin. Usually 20-25 people show up, we grab some coffee, make friends, and spend about an hour writing... But to be honest, you can do whatever kind of dedicated creative work you want to. • Some people write songs, other people write poetry. • Some people doodle, and other people read. It all works. So if you wanna meet some of my favorite people in Austin this Saturday ...you know what to do 🤠

One of the greatest joys of adulthood is paying top dollar for everything you sold to Game Stop for pennies.

Did we ever find out who John Galt was? Or is that still up in the air?

Guess we're not big fans of literature jokes out here.

Getting a group of guy friends together on Friday's after work. We're gonna walk around the lake, and grab a beer afterwards. No breathwork, or meditation, or journaling. Just like normal hanging out. This is the innovation I'm bringing to Austin.

Since moving to Austin I’ve met quite a few notable, and kinda famous, folks. The biggest thing I learned? Not one of them (not a single one) was how I imagined.

Imagine if you achieved everything you ever wanted this year. That would really, and truly, suck.

If you live in Austin, would you wanna go watch some Mutton Bustin' with me? (yes, this is a real thing. Very small children riding on sheep until they get whipped off)

How quickly can you tell if something was written by AI? and how quickly thereafter do you stop reading it?

Kids used to be able to play in the street. Now if you're in the street, in your neighborhood, people will furiously honk at you and wave you out of the way. A neighborhood is not for arterial travel from A to B... its for play, and connection, and community.

Each decade we radically underestimate one element of our health. This is how I'm seeing it play out: 2000's: Physical Health 2010's: Mental Health 2020's: Social Health

I'll probably spend the rest of my life working, in one way or another, to remedy the division and isolation that social media has caused.

Thinking of renting an office space with some friends in Austin. 1. You can come and go as you please most of the week 2. But it's mandatory that we all co-work together one day per week. 3. You must bring some kind of fun personal artifact to decorate the office We'll split the cost equally. Would you wanna join for something like that?

Alright. Looking like $200/mo Limiting it to 10 people. Bring your own anything (food, drink, coffeemaker, wine, speakers, decorations, couch) It will be our shared space, just us. If you're in, let me know. We'll cap it at 10 folks (I have 4 already)
