Limitations in art are what push artists to be creative. Boring, ultra-textured realism is a byproduct of having too many choices for artists who don't understand this.
Ocarina of Time was never supposed to be a realistic-looking game. Even ignoring the official art, the in-game characters are vibrant, stylised, and look more like anime characters than realistic humans.

I’m so tired of this premise that beinh an artist or professional equates to always falling into a very rigid way of acting or talking. Hot Take- most people hate artists and game devs for whatever reason. Even artists are super critical and form small cliques where they hate on other artists. My take away from making games for 16 years is- I might as well be hated for actually being myself instead of pretending to be someone else my whole life and still be hated.

Let me elaborate. Stop taking games that used to have appeal and injecting crusty AF fuggo AAA character slop into them.

The announcement will be that all our current PCs are going to be rendered useless. We wont be able to play any "next gen" games due to a bloated operating system and Nvidia discontinuing support for all their old graphics cards. Resulting in everyone needing to spend 3k on a new PC and a new Graphics card that no one can actually get because data centers will buy them all.

It’s funny how quick people forget how aggressive microsoft was with pushing windows 11 on us to later roll out garbage windows updates that bricked people’s pc. My laptop was bricked by a windows 11 update.

By rendered useless. I mean that they are going to push some new tech ( similar to that bullshit DLSS 5 ) that doesn't work well at all on any current PCs or any PC that doesn't have Windows 11.

Video Game History Lesson- Many people actually liked Wind Waker on launch even though many did initially complain when the game was first shown and announced. Nintendo led us to believe we were getting a very detailed and DARK Zelda. They teased several times, a visual direction that was very mature, specific and impressive. This felt like a natural progression from Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask. Basically, the initial reveal of Wind Waker was a massive failure because of the hype Nintendo built up. By the time the game was released, however, many people had changed their minds. Sales were still kind of low, not just because of the expectation of the darker Zelda game that Nintendo teased and never launched, but also because Game Cube as a system wasn't performing that well. Game Cube was fighting an uphill battle against the perception that the console was for kids. By 2002, Nintendo hadn't even broken half a million Game Cubes sold in America. The PS2 was outperforming due to their strong third party support and more mature games for gamers that were growing up. Despite Game Cube underperforming as a console, and Nintendo rug pulling a darker Zelda game to deliver a cartoony one... the game actually still managed to sell almost 5 million copies. ( still under Ocarina of Time's 7.6 mill ) By 2003- nearly HALF of Game Cube owners had bought Wind Waker.
inacreditável que fãs de Zelda receberam essa lindeza de jogo que é Windwaker RECLAMARAM dos gráficos na época
