🗣️ This week, our Director gave evidence in Parliament on the future of the BBC.
As the UK’s largest cultural organisation, the BBC’s unique role in UK arts and culture MUST be central to the Charter Renewal debate.
We’re working to make sure this is the case, from the publication of our report through to the government's final decisions that will shape its future for the next decade.

We're looking for the people who document the arts in the UK 📸
Could this be you, or someone you know?
ALT Image of two dancers in high-vis jackets in Stockton-on-Tees. Heading in cream text with pink background: Calling all arts photographers! Subtitle: We’re looking for the people who document the arts in the UK through photography
We're the UK-wide alliance for all the arts.
To make the case for them properly, we need to show what they actually look like.
Nobody sees more of them than the photographers moving between its projects, places and people.
So we're creating an Affiliate Photographer Network: a small group of freelancers who share selected images from work they're already doing.
Full details and short application form at campaignforthearts.org/about…
Deadline 1 July. Early-career photographers welcome. Please share 💜
“In the latest study, the middle-aged and older adults aged 40 or above received the biggest boost to the pace at which they aged as a result of taking part in the arts.”

Business rates are complex, but highly consequential for arts venues, and changes at the Autumn Budget could prove catastrophic 💣
What they are, what's changing, how this will impact arts and cultural organisations, and what we should do about it ⬇️

Business rates for arts venues: a hellishly tangled and easy-to-avoid subject, but so important for the survival of live entertainment.
This is a masterclass from @_CFTA in how to make a complex subject simpler campaignforthearts.org/news/…

Ambition for the UK's largest cultural organisation shouldn't mean reshaping what it makes and who for.
It should mean something bolder: universal access, creative independence, and cultural riches for all.
