🚨 Shawn Cee says people often mistake popularity for quality when discussing Drake
Shawn Cee says, many fans use Drake’s numbers as proof that the music is better without acknowledging the role of social influence.
“Very rarely is there a correlation between quality and the social demand for a product.”
“Drake does not allow himself to be outside of people’s worldview.”
Shawn says that’s brilliant business, but believes it plays a much bigger role in Drake’s success than many fans are willing to acknowledge.
🚨 Shawn Cee calls out Stevie Knight’s Drake apology
According to Shawn, using Drake’s streaming numbers as a reason to suddenly hear the music differently makes no sense.
“You’re saying the numbers is what’s affecting your listening skills right now?”
Shawn also argues that people ignore how much Drake benefits from constantly flooding the market with music, saying volume plays a major role in Drake’s dominance and should be part of the conversation whenever his numbers are compared to artists like Kendrick Lamar.
“You’re going to hear him because he refuses to be left out of the algorithm.”
Shawn later claimed some Drake fans don’t want discussion they just want everyone to “bend the knee.”
