We need an honest conversation about this:
1. State institutions must work โ including the immigration unit. Enforcing laws isn't "xenophobia"; it's basic governance.
๐ฐ Department of Home Affairs confirms that it has processed 586 Nigerian nationals for repatriation after they were found to be residing in the Republic of South Africa illegally.
The first repatriation flight departed on the morning of 11 June 2026, carrying 268 passengers. All individuals processed for repatriation were issued with Emergency Travel Documents by the Nigerian High Commission, enabling their exit from South Africa and return to Nigeria.

Kenneth Bullock, a 44-year-old Black man from Detroit, Michigan, walked free after spending over a decade behind bars for a carjacking he did NOT commit.
In 2011, a woman reported her Dodge Charger stolen at gunpoint. Bullock was wrongfully convicted and sentenced to 30-70 years in prison. He maintained his innocence the entire time.
This year, another man already in prison for murder confessed to the crime. The Wayne County Prosecutorโs Conviction Integrity Unit reviewed the case, and on May 28, 2025, all charges were dismissed. Kenneth is finally home with his family.

Our Firm - Merton & Everett LLP - is representing A mother with an infant baby who was recently repatriated from South Africa.
Apparently before she left for SA, she had a money dispute with someone who reported her to the Police. In her absence, a bench warrant was issued for her unknown to her.
When she arrived at the airport with the repatriation flight, she was detained by immigration and arraigned at the Dansoman Circuit Court.
Our application for bail for her was denied. Mother and infant baby remain in cells.
She must be happy to be b3rk!
