Blood clots, COVID-19 and cardiac disease remain the leading causes of death in women during pregnancy/up to 6 weeks post-partum. More than ever it is important to work together to understand how we can improve the safety and outcomes of all pregnant/post-partum women. #UKMCS

275 women died in the UK during pregnancy or up to six weeks after the end of pregnancy in 2020-2022 from causes related to or exacerbated by pregnancy among 2,028,543 women giving birth, a maternal mortality rate of 13.56 per 100,000 buff.ly/2HR30eT
