EUsalt is inviting you to its upcoming Annual Conference and events, taking place on 8-11 June 2026 in the iconic city of Venice and its elegant island of the Lido.
Venice and salt share a particularly meaningful connection. For centuries, salt trade contributed to the city’s prosperity and strategic importance. Even more remarkably, the very foundations of Venice are sustained by thousands of wooden pillars driven deep into the lagoon’s ground — preserved for centuries thanks to their constant immersion in salt water, which protects the wood from decay. In this way, salt quite literally helped support the city that we will gather in.

This week in Brussels, EUsalt is participating in the @FoodDrinkEU Partnership Days
Salt is a fundamental ingredient that supports food preservation, safety, and nutrition (through iodisation), as well as numerous industrial and environmental applications.
🧂 To highlight the sector’s commitment to public health, several saltshakers with iodised salt were displayed during the event - a small but symbolic reminder that iodine fortification remains one of the most cost-effective public health interventions.
EUsalt is pleased to contribute to these discussions, representing a responsible and united European salt industry committed to competitiveness, sustainability and public health.
