might be a smug anime girl irl or a chad. Jeanne D'Arc is pretty great.

When an oomfie gets laid and you never see his favorite anime girl on the TL again. Abhorrent behavior.

I don't think that's the main thing. People straight up superchat react streamers, people will pay money for something they enjoy. I think the biggest thing is... proximity. Easier to have a doujin scene where 40 million people live in a metropolis and can take a train
About piracy: I think Japanese strict attitudes about piracy is one reason why doujin culture flourishes there. People are more willing to spend mone. Something like Comiket wouldn't work here because few people want to pay $5 for a random porn comic Just compare the state of Japanese and western media. One reason for this is respect for creators

I think the only equivalent is places in New York and LA that had fanzines and organizations but.. they never quiet scaled as high as Tokyo's. Anime Expo 2025 had 100k visitors day 1, comiket reached 120k. Just now reaching their numbers for events, despite the US' higher pop

In the end, I think it's a logistics thing lol. Incentive wise nowadays, why do adoujin event when you just post stuff online and put up a patreon. If a US doujin scene ever arises, it'd be just online imo. Closest thing you'll get is ppl selling their stuff at con vendor halls

Honestly, if there's one good thing about AI, is that i get to see Japanese tweets and auto translated vtuber captions. Though now I'm gonna be lazier about ever learning the language tbh
The algorithm has been pushing way more Japanese content and it's almost always a certified banger

I asked on here how to learn js before, and the guy who said "just work on a project" was right. It just clicks when you know what result you want is. Or maybe I'm just bad at understanding lol

>changed this scene to them meeting a conspiracy theorist who thinks the sun is fake. Iunno man, ppl simped for that plane girl who thought the pilot was not real, if anything the crazy would be a selling point
Persona 3 replaces trans side character, possibly to avoid offending players. Link below:

Started writing detailed log entries after every DND session on my group's discord channel, & even AI art depictions. Figured it'd be too autistic/long to do all that, but they loved it. Feels good to learn I overthought it.

Genuinely think people straight up set their kids back by making em watch stuff like Teletubbies and Johnny Test, why give them brain rot so early? I managed to beat Paper Mario as a 6 year old & tried to cheese the thing, p sure other kids played Pokemon just fine at that age
I’ve always talked to my kid exactly like any other adult. Mostly because it’s hilarious. But now I’m facing the consequences. I feel like I’m parenting an elderly man in a 5yo’s body. He went over and just stood by the window and said somberly “There’s a cold front coming in.”

Actually, part of the reason people accept Pokemon games the way they are now is cuz they're marketed towards kids, which means they should just stay low effort and mindlessly easy. It's an odd argument, wouldn't you want a product for your kids to, ya know, be good in someway?

Making a kid just watch "kid's shows or kid games" is something I'll probably avoid, don't want their brains turning into mush. Don't mean I'll make em watch Berserk lol, but I wont toss em on a tablet watching elsagate tier stuff.
