The schedule’s critical to SC for who has doubles but
@BJumperNBL digs deeper to give you the edge. Shooters & smaller guards usually show largest statistical volatility away, Perth & NZ players often show the biggest home/away swings due to brutal travel. Follow for more…
• Season opener is great: Adelaide @ Melbourne (Cotton/Gleeson vs debut of Joe Ingles), followed by SEM @ Perth (projected to be two high-level teams).
• Hawks have the most ‘back-to-backs’, with 9; my determination was their draw is hardest.
• All 8 of Sydney’s back-to-backs require travel in between.
• Looks like ADL and MEL have no true road trips (they can fly home after every road game).
• Longest road trip = Wildcats from Jan. 1-9 (@ TAS, @ NZ, @ ILL, @ ADL); that’s part of 6 straight road games for PER.
• NZ only has 3 back-to-backs. BNE and Cairns only have 4 back-to-backs each.
• ADL leads the league with 11 Saturday games. MEL and SEM are next with 10 each. There are ostensibly more eyes on those free-to-air games, which teams can leverage for sponsorship/branding purposes. The league would also likely aim to have more popular (or bigger market) teams in those time slots; so only 5 Saturday games for Sydney was interesting.
