I’m incredibly grateful to have be invited to spend the afternoon with the @NPASSouthWest team operating from their base at Exeter Airport. (NPAS 44) They deliver a fully borderless air service to @DC_Police and other forces across England & Wales and carry out a variety of tasks, such as searching for missing persons, searching for suspects, managing vehicle pursuits & assisting with counterterrorism and specialist firearms operations! They are an incredible team & an invaluable asset to police operations and public safety! #ThankYou

On the 14 hour night shift… First tasking was a relay from #Torbay Hospital to J30 #Exeter Services to collect samples from Ed and the #SouthDevon team, then up to J24 #Bridgwater Services to meet Dave. Final destination #Filton On shift until 7am💪 #SWBB #Volunteers #Blood #NHS🩸

As it’s the end of #NationalVolunteersWeek I would just like to say great big thank you to everyone at @SouthDevon_SC and @DC_PoliceCitPol for the dedication and commitment that you all put into policing our local area, in your own free time. It’s very much appreciated. I would also like to say a #Special thank you to the @SouthDevon_SC Supt. for the time and effort put into road safety, not only across South Devon, but in other parts of the county. Thanks to funding from Vision Zero South West, more than 6,000 pupils across 77 primary schools have received practical training ensuring children know what hazards to look out for and how best to negotiate crossing the roads. @activedevon

Great to be part of #Impact @PostCollision research today at @DSFireUpdates #Middlemoor, helping the @DevonAirAmb @VisionZeroSW and @TheRSTrust with their research to transform post-collision outcomes by enhancing pre-hospital decision making, optimising emergency response systems, enabling bystanders and improving the long term recovery trajectory of collision survivors through impactful research and the implementation of best practices. #IMPACTResearch26

The number of people killed or seriously injured on the regions roads, has fallen. Department for Transport figures show there were 49 fatalities and 495 seriously injured in Devon and Cornwall, last year. That’s almost a 1/5 lower than the numbers for 2024. Driver education through schemes like Community Speed Watch, speed awareness courses and speed enforcement, are among measures helping to reduce road casualties and part of a multi-pronged approach by the @DC_Police Road Safety Team and @VisionZeroSW partnership. My team and I are hoping to to see the continuation of this downward trend and will support efforts in 2026 to reduce serious and fatal collisions on our roads, through community engagement, education and supporting our LPT’s. #CSW #VisionZeroSW #Learn2Live #Fatal5
