Saw that tweet about company names: Thing, Thingly, Thingsy, Thingify, Thingwise. Actually laughed out loud. But seriously, when did product names become so formulaic?

I wonder if this is because so much content gets generated by AI now. GPT tends to follow patterns it learned from training data. If most successful companies used these suffixes, the AI keeps recommending them. Really hoping GPT-4.5 brings back some creative naming.

Remember when company names had personality? Apple. Google. Yahoo. Twitter. These names didn't describe what the product did. They were memorable because they were unexpected. Now everything sounds like it came from the same corporate playbook.

just discovered Untitled UI and honestly it's kinda insane how much time this saves literally the world's largest Figma UI kit React components all in one place went from "ugh i need to design this whole thing" to shipping in like 2 hours if you're tired of building components from scratch, this might be it

A great team boils down to four things: Get clear, spell it out, catch on, nail it.

Could OpenAI and Anthropic end up being the Microsoft and Apple of the AI world? 🤔

Hey, I recently caught a part of Warren Buffett’s speech at the 2024 Berkshire Hathaway Shareholders Meeting that really struck a chord with me, so I thought I’d share it with you all: --- Shareholder Question (Sebastian Sartor, Munich, Germany): “Good morning! I'm Sebastian Sartor from Munich, Germany. Berkshire is highly respected back home. So, quick question—who’s your go-to advisor these days? Is it Ted and Todd? Greg and Ajit? Or maybe your wife or kids? What qualities do you admire in them? Thanks!” Warren Buffett: “Well, that depends—are we talking money or something else? (Laughter) I totally trust my wife and kids, but that doesn’t mean I go asking them which stock to buy. (Laughter) My daughter’s tuned into local matters—if she tells me who to vote for, I go with it. My wife gives me advice on all kinds of stuff—won’t get into the specifics. (Laughter) Look, if you go through life without surrounding yourself with people you trust, it’s not going to be much fun. I’ve been lucky to have trustworthy folks around me since my twenties. Sure, sometimes you mess up and let the wrong person in—but time has a way of weeding them out. That’s something life teaches you. Take Charlie—after I met him, I realized I had someone who'd never lie, who saw honesty as everything. When you find someone like that, you hang onto them—and the rest just fades into the background. (Applause)”

Don’t show off—then you’ll see clearly. Don’t insist you're always right—then you'll shine. Don’t brag—then you'll achieve real merit. Don’t act superior—then you’ll go far.

Here’s the thing: free stuff might not cost much upfront, but it sure knows how to make money.
