Bernie Krause: “a picture may be worth a thousand words, but a soundscape is worth a thousand pictures.” I love this quote! You can find it in his Ted Talk called “The Voice of the Natural World”

I watched a guy’s credit card fall out of his pocket, so I picked it up and chased after him. It took me way longer to get his attention that it should have because he had headphones in. What do you think about aural distractions in public?

My campus is so much quieter now that the semester is over. The buzz of laughter, the sweet squeak of bicycle chains, the soft impact of footsteps, they’re all absent now. On the other hand, I have been able to hear plant and animal lif much more clearly! ☘️
