On Friday, 22nd May 2026, my sister called me in tears to tell me that her close friend from secondary school had just been killed.
I could not believe what I heard. I had to end the call just to process everything she had told me.
There are some people you always hear about but never get to meet face to face.
Achumba Wendy was one of them.
She was my sister’s very close friend during their secondary school years.
And although I never met her personally, I could tell she was a smart, intelligent, and genuinely good person to everyone around her.
She was approached by a vulcanizer, but she turned him down.
Later, the vulcanizer took two of his friends and went to assault this innocent girl.
They took turns r@ping her.
After carrying out their evil act, they decided to silence her so she would not expose them.
They ended the life of an innocent young woman in her final year of midwifery school simply because they could not control their evil desires.
They traced her apartment, r@ped her, slit her throat, and locked her back inside her room.
This is an extremely wicked and devilish act.
They were caught yesterday, and I pray they face the full weight of justice for what they did to this innocent girl.
Today is Pentecost Sunday, and I personally pray that the Holy Spirit comforts her family and gives them the strength to bear this painful loss.
May the gentle soul of Achumba Wendy rest in perfect peace in the Lord’s bosom. Amen.
