Recently read some very constructive, useful/educational and entertaining threads from a few people on here and its been a breath of fresh air. Isn't this what #MedEd twitter should be about?
Thank you very much
@EM_Dr_Jacklin@DrBenLovell@adi_kumar1
Many thanks to @JonnyGucks, @drcolinm and Dr Sarah Hallett for some insightful talks tonight.
My takeaways:
- #MedEd needs to be better at supervision
- We all need to show we are *actually* listening - from trainees & students to the @gmcuk
- there's still lots of hope!
First up is @JonnyGucks discussing how we define and form our professional identity as Doctors. What are the norms and values that make and define a doctor? How do these shape our professional identity?
Bit more info on how we will be running the seminar next week!
TL;DR we think the role of the doctor is important, so what should our role/identity look like in 20yrs how do we get there? Topics: identity, careers, policy/education

π @nicucalcea@BBCNews thnx for your interesting article on job pay comparison.
Maybe worth noting that GPs β junior doctors (in pay or responsibility). Any reason they weren't grouped with other specialist doctors given they also have specialist training?

Had no idea it was this much! But also critical to consider accessibility for many who don't/can't use tech and the human impact of losing face to face connection. I know I prefer seeing my GP in person!
Could we lobby for better public health transport links?
#NHS related traffic accounts for 5% of road traffic in England alone. Given the environmental impact of traditional face-to-face appointments, should they become a thing of the past in favour of #telemedicine?
Highly recommend this series of interactive webinars looking to explore the future of medicine. Some great speakers and a long term forward view - what's not to love?
