Since the Elizabeth Line opened in 2022, the number of visitors to Canary Wharf has surged.
Some are workers. But many are tourists and day-trippers, there for a good time. We went down to meet some of them - story below.
Is Canary Wharf cool now?
Since 2022, a load of glitzy new bars and restaurants have opened in the financial district. New swimming spots and green spaces have made it less oppressively grey.
Over at the Ledgers Building, a waterside wetherspoons, people seem to be liking the change.
“It feels a bit hip, a bit trendy around here”, says Martin, a tanned, bald man in his 50s, who has travelled to Canary Wharf from Essex for a night out.
Strange things are happening at Canary Wharf.
