A Common Loon is just settling down on its two eggs during incubation. Note how far back the legs and giant webbed feet are located on its body, an adaptation that allows it be a powerful swimmer, but very clumsy on land.

A male American Kestrel is delivering a shrew to it’s young in a nesting box. Kestrels are the smallest American falcon - about the size of a blue jay. They are cavity nesters, and readily adapt to manmade nesting boxes.

Did nest checks this morning on my 2 Purple Gourd Rack systems. Last check it totaled 113 eggs. Today there were a total of 25 nestlings and 90 eggs still left. 23 of 24 gourds used so far. Here's one quick video of some younguns. #CorpusChristiTX #Birds
