Literally any rational being would kill themselves rather than suffer, hence suicide. If I'm trapped in a burning building, I'm shooting myself.
Secondly, you cannot justify self-sacrifice for another's values when the existence of such values is dependent upon your action.

You cannot claim that you’re aborting your Down syndrome child because you don’t want him to “suffer.” First of all, killing a child so they don’t suffer is psychopath serial killer logic. You’re on the same moral plane as Andrea Yates. Second, children with Down syndrome are famously some of the happiest people you’ll ever meet in your life. They are not in fact living in a state of perpetual torment. So what’s really happening is that you’re killing your child so that YOU won’t suffer the inconvenience of caring for him. This is about freeing yourself of your own perceived suffering. If you’re going to be a child killing sociopath, at least be honest about it.

Understanding that a life is of a dramatically reduced quality is not the same as stating we should have the right to kill such people.
Reproduction is not a matter of if a person exists but *who* exists, and we should always opt for people who will have better lives.

Imagine the message you are sending right now to every person with down syndrome around the world. You are telling them that their lives are not worth living. You are telling them that if their existence is an inconvenience for someone else that person should have the right to kill them.

The logical conclusion of this line of thought is absurd.
It rests upon the claim that refusing to bring someone into existence is a harm upon that "person".
The issue is that would mean every second *you* aren't pregnant, you are harming some potential future person.

This is a great way to show the critical flaw in monogamy, that any difference in values cannot be reconciled without someone losing out.
The clear solution is for someone else to sate his sexuality. The fear of competition only exists through exclusivity.

Competence is not intelligence, and personality traits such as low conscientiousness can completely override any advantage provided.
