AND NO SOUL KNOWS IN WHICH LAND IT WILL DIE The news of the tragic accident involving Anthony Joshua and the loss of his close associate is heavy. But looking at this picture—full of life, strength, and fitness—brings a specific verse from Surah Luqman (31:34) shaking into reality: وَمَا تَدْرِي نَفْسٌ بِأَيِّ أَرْضٍ تَمُوتُ "And no soul perceives in what land it will die." This brother likely boarded a flight to Nigeria with plans for celebration, heritage, and joy. This was probably his first time visiting the country. If you had told him a week ago in London that his final breath would be taken in a town called Sagamu, he would have looked at you in utter disbelief and asked: "Sagamu what?!" But Allah’s decree is precise. The invitation to return to Him had already been written for that specific spot on that specific road, thousands of miles from the home he knew. It is a terrifying and humbling reminder for all of us. We book our tickets, we plan our itineraries, and we build our bodies in the gym, but we do not know the coordinates where the Angel of Death is waiting. We walk towards our destiny thinking we are walking towards our vacation. May the Almighty grant his family and loved ones the immense fortitude needed to bear this sudden, crushing loss. May we all live with the consciousness that any land could be our final land.

This was Anas on the day of his wedding. Anas Al-Sharif, for 28 years of his life, lived under a brutal occupation whose only mission was to kill more Palestinians and steal more Palestinian land. For 673 days, he starved with his people as he reported on limbless and bloody dead children, night and day. He ran towards, not away from, airstrikes so he could report firsthand on the destruction and loss of life, in an attempt to wake the world from its slumber. Al Jazeera, his employer, even gave him a chance to be evacuated out of Gaza early on, but he refused. He told them he would rather die in his own land before he ever leaves it. When the ‘ceasefire’ (the one which Israel broke over 900 times) happened months ago, all of Gaza was running to Anas, to hug him, to kiss his forehead, to thank him for telling the world about what they endured. What an honorable and beautiful human. Not only did he wake up millions of people to the ugliness of the ethnic cleansing of Palestine, he woke up millions to the capitalistic, colonizer-driven, greedy, and evil world we’re all tricked into accepting. He died telling the truth. Western journalists live to tell lies. We saw more of their lies as they tried to smear his righteous and virtuous name to try and justify his murder. Palestine is bigger than just Palestine. Palestine is for every person who believes in freedom. In equal rights. In liberty. Not the terms the west throws around as they continue to murder children en masse and the same nations that paraded children in human zoos only decades ago. True freedom, true equal rights, and true liberty. Imagine justice and peace. Now continue fighting for it. Anas’s death will not be in vain. Glory be to the martyrs. Free Palestine. Free us all.

The Prophet ﷺ said, “Whoever among you wakes up secure in his property, healthy in his body, and with his food for the day, it is as if he were given the entire world.” (Sunan al-Tirmidhī 2346) We ask Allah to grant security to our brothers and sisters around the world.

The Settlers, the doc I made for the BBC, is now available to stream in the US on BBC Select. It couldn’t be more timely with the announcement today that the Israeli govt has approved construction of 22 new settlements in the West Bank - which are illegal under international law.

If you had to kill people to start your country, and haven’t stopped killing people since the day you started your country, and have to continue killing people to stay in control of your country, what does that tell the world about you and your country.

I feel sorry for the trees, birds, and wildlife. Ever notice how wildfires don’t happen in neighboring countries, some of which are much drier? There’s a reason for that. The people currently colonizing that land are all foreigners who have no understanding of the land. They view themselves as masters of the Earth, and thought they could fix the land by planting non-native trees that were fast growing, and gave them a sense of their homes in Europe. This is a nature intifada
⚡️BREAKING: Out of control fires – Israel seeks help to contain massive wildfires near Jerusalem Massive wildfires are spreading across western Jerusalem and the Gaza envelope, forcing the closure of Routes 1 and 3 and prompting large-scale evacuations. The fires are nearing sensitive sites, including tanks near the “Black Arrow” memorial west of Sderot and major Israeli settlements and kibbutzim. With 119 firefighting teams and aircraft struggling to contain the flames, Israel has requested urgent assistance from Cyprus, Greece, Croatia, and Italy. Officials warn the situation is critical and likely to worsen.

Palestinians are not “facing” starvation. They are being starved to death by Israel. Yet our government still refuses to end all arms sales and implement sanctions, granting endless impunity for Israel's crimes against humanity. End the blockade — and stop the genocide.

What a shameful headline. This 13 year old was made to confess. No lawyer or parents present. Confession signed in Hebrew, a language he did not speak. Tried at a military court. Tortured and abused for 10 years in jail. Do your job @BBCWorld
