Lessons from AI-assisted coding. I plan to keep this an evergreen thread and update it whenever I have something to share.

I'm really puzzled by the fact that *both* Claude & GPT started to over-use the word 'seam' at approx the same time.

Claude Fable is expensive, but cheaper than Opus used to be, and still cheaper that GPT Pro. I guess Fable is where the AI subscription arbitrage ends though: after an initial rollout window, Fable will be billed at retail API rates when used with Claude subscriptions.

Claude Code's 'dynamic workflows' are great at tasks that are workflow-shaped.

lines of code is a better metric than people think it is. token use is a better metric than people think it is

`seam` seems to be the new `delve`. I'm seeing this word pop up really frequently in LLM authored docs.

Unscientific, vibes based observation: the time per output token (TPOT) for LLM inference seems to go up in proportion to context length? I have noticed that sessions on Claude Code with Opus 1 million slow down as the context goes up.

It's 2026 and I still use kdiff3 as my diff viewer. Everything else is worse.

The BESCOM power supply in Bangalore has been really reliable recently, even though the summer has been brutal. Proof that Bangalore infra _can_ improve.

PSA: Codex rate limits are *really generous*, even on pro & teams plans.

It's 2026 and card payments with Indian cards on international SaaS platforms are still a daily struggle.

Missed opportunity to call it Claude Saga instead. Maybe 'saga' too close to 'MAGA'?

I think that casual usage of terms like 'clanker' is harmful. What you choose to call something will change your perception of that thing & yourself.

I still don't know what people are talking about when they talk about 'terminal flicker' with coding agents. I'm just puzzled.

Calif is Thai Duong's team. Thai Duong, of TLS BEAST and CRIME (and Wycheproof at Google). They had Claude shake a stick at FreeBSD, and got a reliable remote kernel RCE. This is happening. It's happening fast. It's going to get crazier. blog.calif.io/p/mad-bugs-cla…

With all the software supply chain attacks ongoing, I am starting to think that Go's Minimal Version Selection was the right choice all along.

It's hard to internalise the fact that most of the code written in the future will be throwaway code, written for a point-in-time need. Write-once, run-once, read-never.
