Wow! On Sunday I received one of the best emails of my life - I've been accepted into the Microsoft MVP program for the first time ever!
I've always admired other MVPs, and to achieve it now for doing what I love doing every day, and a huge honour.

I'm diving into @svelte face first - so far I like how simple it is, perfect for my current project.
But I have to admit, this mixture of syntax is jarring for me.... a combination of #, : and / just for an if/else statement.

This is pretty cool, I just had a play with it and although it's a difference experience to say Azure Data Studio (since the whole IDE isn't necessarily focused on running database queries), this will be really helpful to quickly run SQL, without needing ADS or SSMS to get going!

Have to say, the queue hall is decidedly boring and disappointing this year, which is particularly surprising for the 20th birthday.
And the new layout is dumb - only a small percentage get to even see anything, and no speakers up the "back"

👇 This is likely the shortest way for me to explain what is mocking and why you should be mocking in your tests.

TL;DR Each mock is an invisible line in your test that says "nothing past that line matters". It is up to you to figure out where and why to draw that line.
For example, one must always draw that line for network requests in integration tests. Because something like an external server mustn't affect the results of your tests in any way.
Here we are grasping at something tangible, at last. Mocking is your level that controls what affects the test results and what doesn't—because that, in turn, controls what the test is about.
