@Andrew_OSU Just finished listening to this week’s pod. Excellent as always. Wanted to point out that my Philips Ambilight 65OLED759 from 2024 is a Matter endpoint too. It sucks (like really bad), probably because there is no Matter TV profile.

My parents have the 55OLED760, the 2025 refresh, and it doesn’t have Matter. It seems they dropped it for native HomeKit. Winds me up because I bought because of the Matter support I hope that the new model’s Matter implementation is better, but it certainly isn’t their first

Have had to finally take a day off sick from work. First of this decade. I am so bored. Head is too foggy to read/watch anything interesting.

Went to watch the game with @DGoonerSociety today. These folks were super passionate about the club - including coming together at 6am for some kick-offs. Just shows that you don’t have to live in the UK to be a proper @Arsenal fan. #respect

Another day, another delivery, another message from @DPDCare saying that I didn’t open the door to give them a pin for my delivery My office is right next to my door and I haven’t left it all day The message should have said “the driver couldn’t be arsed” Pathetic

Programming requires skills that come naturally to people that are good at certain branches of maths. To conflate that with “programming requires maths” is a very lazy IMO. caveat: unless what you are actually programming is manipulating numbers in complex way- then maths helps

why do people still have this misconceived idea that programming requires maths?

Someone needs to speak to Rodri about his mentality.

Vouchers are such a lame gift. Like “I know that giving you money is a bit crass, so here is a bit of paper which represents money but I have decided where you can spend it”. Just give me the money.

Digital natives don’t think the same way as the generations that are making policy decisions. Things will change wildly when the digital natives get control of policy, and I am here for it!
And for the people who keep saying that privacy will drive people towards self-hosted solutions: I’m 24. People my age have grown up with tech, and are generally more capable at using it than older generations. The amount of non-tech friends that I’ve seen upload pictures of themselves to the most shady-looking apps, just to get fun AI pictures of themselves, is ridiculous. They don’t care. I sometimes ask why. A common answer is “So? What are they gonna do with my pictures? The app is fun!” I’ll often then offer to do it for them, running the model directly myself. That way, they can avoid the privacy issues. Not one has taken me up on it. “But I don’t want to wait.” Convenience and utility are king.

So that's a wrap.. 1 mark away from a distinction! I really enjoyed this course and would recommend it to anyone who is interested to learn a bit about iOS development. Now I can build my app! #100DaysOfSwiftUI @twostraws hackingwithswift.com/100/swi…

🎉 I just finished Day 99 of the #100DaysOfSwiftUI at hackingwithswift.com/100/swi… via @twostraws Saving a set to user defaults was kind of interesting. Decided to encode to JSON, and store the Base 64 encoded version of that. Not sure it was the best idea but it worked!

It’s not Nike’s fault, you doughnut. Nike cannot release a kit without the FA signing it off. If the FA didn’t like it, they could’ve pushed back and Nike would have changed it.

@twostraws Hello Paul. On day 96 of 100 Days of Swift UI, the section “Sharing Observable objects through SwiftUI’s environment” seems to be missing. From the day 96 page the link goes to the books page and it is missing altogether from the top page nav.

In fact all of the pages for Project 19 seem to be dated from 2021 or 2022. Am I seeing the right pages?

Seems like all the videos are on YouTube (showing as being 5 days old). I created a playlist of them if anyone is interested. youtube.com/playlist?list=PL…
