Priors don't lie even the best players in the game revert back to their predraft self in the biggest stage πŸ˜‚

Not if you watched him predraft lol lots of people here continue to fall for RS gimmicks when playoffs continuously show players who they really are predraft
Victor's playmaking this postseason was shockingly bad

Victor Wembanyama (in French) is asked what he is looking to improve on over the summer: πŸ‡«πŸ‡·: Victor, after these Finals, what do you want to improve the most this summer? On the court or off the court, what area of improvement have you identified for yourself before next season? πŸ‘½: I'm going to work even harder, obviously, to be even more durable and, above all, to keep a fresh mind and maintain control of the game at all times. That's what really stands out about Jalen Brunson, for example. There are too many momentsβ€”and it doesn't come from bad intentionsβ€”but there are too many moments where I'm passive, where I don't have the control over the game that I'd like to have, and it ends up costing us. #GoSpursGo #PorVida
Victor Wembanyama (in French) says he wasn’t ready to win a ring yet and made too many mistakes: πŸ‡«πŸ‡·: Victor, first of all, congratulations on your season and your team's season. Looking back at the series, Mitch said just before that he felt you weren't ready to win a championship and that the other team was. Do you agree with that? And what exactly do you think was missing in this series? πŸ‘½: Obviously. Obviously we weren't ready. I wasn't ready to win a ring. That's obvious. I think in terms of desire to do well, intensity and effort, we were at a good level. I was at a good level. But experience... it's mistakes. We don't lack talent, we don't lack ability, we just make too many mistakes. And I make too many mistakes. #GoSpursGo #PorVida

Brunson really dog walked Wemby in the Finals this is crazy
38
Brunson measured 6'1" w/o shoes 198 lbs 37" max vertical in draft combine. He was a crafty 3-level scorer who can draw fouls and make plays for the team. Nobody in this class can be described the same way. Maybe Burries but he is not a small guard.
Greatest benefactor of the Brunson/small guard agenda going back to college πŸ•ŠοΈ

Spurs needs another big this offseason. For starters, they can take a look at JQ, Zuby and Morez in the upcoming draft.
The Spurs will not make any significant changes this offseason

This chip is about NEW YORK more than anything, but Brunson doing it for the small guards is not just great for small guards, but great for the game The game is better when we have variability. It's better when we have plodder bigs, sub 6-foot guards, and everything in between

Jalen Brunson took a $100M paycut. and for once, it was 100% worth it.

Kinda funny how each of the guards in here have led their teams to championship in different decades. 80s/90s - Zeke ('89, '90) 2000s - Parker (2007) 2010s - Steph ('15, '17, '18) 2020s - Steph ('22), Brunson ('26) Small guards can win you a πŸ† atleast once a decade. Not bad.
Jalen Brunson, Steph Curry, Tony Parker and Isiah Thomas are the only guards 6’2 or shorter to win Finals MVP. This championship changes a lot for him as far as all-time status. Sort of like Dirk in 2011,

Acuff, Flemings and MBJ draft stocks as we speak πŸ“ˆπŸ“ˆπŸ“ˆ
you can’t cheat teambuilding by phasing out the smartest and most skilled players, then act surprised when the playoffs expose your lack of offensive problem-solving/resilience; just invest in actual guards, develop them, and build structures that keep them on the court

Wemby needs a reliable guard by his side. Most ATG bigs won with one and Wemby won't be an exception with his playstyle. Whether that is Castle/Harper or someone outside the team remains to be seen. If I were Spurs GM, I'd ask about Ant/Book or join Reaves sweepstakes ASAP.
Wemby just can’t play 35 full minutes of mvp caliber play it’s tough but it’s just his physical reality right now

I have a hot take: Brunson > KD

If you look past Wemby, the Knicks clearly have advantage. The rest of the Spurs simply aren't ready for this stage right now.

Man I need to reevaluate my basketball philosophy a bit after this Knicks πŸ† some things need to be revisited which could affect my big board for 2026 Draft

How Garland was used by Cavs in 2025 is how I see Darius Acuff being used best in the league. Probably with more touches/initiating offense in 4th Q and high leverage possessions but this is the vision with Acuff right here.
This whole clip is DG. He can be the big in a horns double pindown set because of his screening, the play can transition into an exit screen relocation because he can shoot in motion and the structure of it only works because we trusted Garland to run empty side pnr with Evan
