That original comment about Haiti and Juneteenth was the kind of provocative simplification folks love to make on here, but anybody responding by acting like enslaved people in the US weren’t sophisticated gatherers and sharers of information on that level needs to spend less time arguing about Afro-American history on social media and more time in the books actually learning about our history.
It’s important to read brethren. If you think a slave revolution 700 miles away from the US mainland was hidden from the enslaved located there, you’re actually giving white people props for being effective omnipotent masters.
