🚨 The first paper of my PhD thesis is out! I'm thrilled to see that those wet and busy days of fieldwork in the Abitibi plains finally paid off!

The new season of #Arcane is without a doubt a masterpiece. Just the other day I came across this dialogue that I'm sure many PhD students, like me, can relate to. @PhDVoice
During the past 2 months I had the opportunity to develop the first chapter of my thesis at the WSL, in Switzerland!🇨🇭Special thanks to @Foresterbose for the planification and supervision, to @Lehmann_Lab for the nice feedback and @Boreal_Spanish@CEF_CFR@UQAT for the funding!😁
Over the last days I have had the pleasure of attending the magnificent #IUFRO2024 Congress at Stockholm! 🇸🇪 I am very grateful to have had the opportunity to exchange ideas with colleagues from my field and to learn more about other areas of research! Until next time!

So here is a mini-thread about a curious fieldwork day that I recently had. The first months of this summer that is sadly fading away were marked in #Quebec by an intense #wildfire activity. For those of you who don't remember, here is an overview. ( ) tvanouvelles.ca/2023/07/01/l…
(-) All these species will prosper and they will create suitable conditions for others to establish, following the natural dynamic of the boreal forest. A dynamic that naturally includes wildfires 🌲➡️🔥➡️🌱( )
(-) But also a dynamic that is projected to be altered by #climatechange, with wildfires reaching frequencies that won't leave time for the young plants to mature and disperse their seeds, and sadly will turing the forest into mere reflection of what it once was.
