Hockey players are soft
Gotta feel sorry for these Knicks players for having to play in such in a big market. I'm sure Brunson wishes he was playing for a team in a tax-free state with warm weather. Somewhere with less media and where no one would recognize him

Leafs spent years spending 1st round picks on Nick Foligno under the guise that going all in every year is better than disciplined asset management to give you as many kicks at the can as possible and it left them in a situation where they have nothing to trade without seriously

damaging their roster. The Carlo trade was the cherry on top

This Canucks team is what the Leafs should have become. But they could never find those 2nd layer guys Kesler, Bieksa, Burrows that drive teams through ultra-competitive series. Or at least didn't keep them Kadri, Hyman

Cuthbert take: objectively he's a very good pxp. Like you can't listen to him call a game and say he sounds bad or doesn't do a good job. But subjectively he's not my cup of tea. I'm sure they could do a scientific study that proves your mind wants to hear hockey as your 10-year

self did, and for me that was Bob Cole. There was just so much character in Cole's voice. It's just very vanilla now, imo

Also, it *is* quite obvious that CC identifies players using their jersey number. Which is fine but I just think that, for example, a left handed shot is obviously not Nylander even if his number resembles 88

It is kind of funny that the Leafs get 1OA and they can add their 17th left winger to the roster

I have what may very well be a hot take. And I say it knowing very well that I’m not a draft guy and I’m probably very wrong. But I really really like Chase Reid. And I would think long and hard about him at 1OA. Reminds me of Doughty

Honest question, I would have thought journalists wouldn't want to be on the starter jacket end of this spectrum? strange
NJ Media to Sunny Mehta: Do you still have that dope Starter jacket from when you grew up as a Devils fan? TOR Media to John Chayka: Everyone says you're a con man and a liar, thoughts? Can't imagine why some career decisions are made ...

Leafs Thoughts: I think there's a world where Chayka does a good job, but man, this seems like an absolute mess. And in my mind anyway, the mess stems around this part of the process. The fact that Chayka has pissed off the hockey men doesn't bother me at all
Keith Pelley says Neil Glasberg (@pbisports) was "pivotal and integral" to the #leafs front office search: "Neil facilitated everything."

to take a hike. He could be the perfect buffer between hockey ops and higher ups. There's a good chance I'm being wildly optimistic on this

The roster needs an obvious infusion of speed and talent. Early on in the Dubas era, they all of a sudden became a slow team. Now they're old and slow. It would be very nice if they kept their pick and nabbed an elite puck moving D man this year

Marner scores and his team moves on. Funny how that works

Gettable pin positions means you can’t be hanging out in the pine straw off the tee. Rory needs to have found a solution with the driver or it won’t be his day
🎯🔥 Viktor Hovland is firing darts on Sunday at Augusta He’s -6 thru 12 today 🤯

Cant win
Maple Leafs are outshot by 25 or more for the 5th time this season, setting a franchise record

I was a Shanahan guy for a long time. He seemed progressive and as a player he was an awesome mix of skill and toughness. And yeah, I’d rather have a Shanahan than a Pelley running the Leafs. But man, things could not have been handled worse. What a botch job

Lack of defence, sure. But also bc of a lack of offence
Good season boys
