This Canucks team is what the Leafs should have become. But they could never find those 2nd layer guys Kesler, Bieksa, Burrows that drive teams through ultra-competitive series.

Also, it *is* quite obvious that CC identifies players using their jersey number. Which is fine but I just think that, for example, a left handed shot is obviously not Nylander even if his number resembles 88

I think there's a world where Chayka does a good job, but man, this seems like an absolute mess. And in my mind anyway, the mess stems around this part of the process. The fact that Chayka has pissed off the hockey men doesn't bother me at all

The roster needs an obvious infusion of speed and talent. Early on in the Dubas era, they all of a sudden became a slow team. Now they're old and slow. It would be very nice if they kept their pick and nabbed an elite puck moving D man this year

I was a Shanahan guy for a long time. He seemed progressive and as a player he was an awesome mix of skill and toughness. And yeah, I’d rather have a Shanahan than a Pelley running the Leafs.
