On June 12, 2026, the National Service Authority (NSA) organized a pre-campus orientation for final-year students of the University of Health and Allied Sciences (UHAS). The programme was designed to prepare students for the upcoming national service registration and deployment process, ensuring they understood the requirements and procedures involved. The orientation was held under the directive of the Director-General of NSA, who tasked her two Deputy Director-Generals, along with the Deployment, Regional, and MIS teams, to engage students directly. Their goal was to provide clarity on the registration process and address common challenges faced by service personnel. Among the dignitaries present were Lt. Col. Moses Dok Nach Kpeungu (Deputy DG, Operations), Hon. Donkor Fuseini (Deputy DG, Finance & Administration), Mr. Yaw Tweneboah Koduah (Head of Deployment), Mr. John Apraku (Head of MIS), the Volta Regional Director, the Dean of Students, and officials from UHAS’s Academic Affairs Directorate. Their presence underscored the importance of the exercise and the Authority’s commitment to guiding students through the transition. The session proved highly engaging, with UHAS students asking numerous questions and seeking clarity on registration procedures, the dos and don’ts of service, and other practical concerns.

The orientation, held on June 11, 2026, formed part of efforts by the Authority to educate prospective service personnel on the requirements and procedures involved in national service. The programme was organized under the directive of the Director-General of the National Service Authority, who tasked her two Deputy Director-Generals, together with the Deployment, Regional, and Management Information Systems (MIS) teams, to engage and educate students on the registration process. Among the dignitaries present were the Deputy Director-General for Operations, Lieutenant Colonel Moses Dok Nach Kpeungu; the Deputy Director-General for Finance and Administration, Hon. Donkor Fuseini; the Head of Deployment, Mr. Yaw Tweneboah Koduah; the Head of MIS, Mr. John Apraku; the Volta Regional Director of the National Service Authority; the Dean of Students; and officials from the Academic Affairs Directorate of Ho Technical University. In his opening remarks, the Volta Regional Director welcomed participants and emphasized the importance of national service in the development of graduates and the nation. Lieutenant Colonel Kpeungu subsequently spoke on the history and significance of national service, encouraging students to embrace the opportunity and participate in the six-week mandatory military training programme. Addressing the students, Hon. Donkor Fuseini responded to concerns regarding the registration process and data mismatch challenges experienced by the current batch of service personnel. He assured students that measures were being implemented to minimize such issues and ensure a smoother registration experience. The Head of Deployment, Mr. Yaw Tweneboah Koduah, took participants through the various registration procedures, including the process of obtaining an NSS PIN code and completing the registration required to secure their National Service numbers. Mr. John Apraku, Head of MIS, also educated students on common registration errors, particularly name and email mismatches. He stressed the importance of providing accurate information during registration to avoid complications during deployment and service. The programme concluded with an interactive session, allowing students to ask questions and receive clarification on issues related to registration, deployment, and national service requirements.

One-Week Observation Held in Honour of Mr. Peter Amoadu-Asmah A one-week observation was held today, 29th May 2026, in honour of Mr. Peter Amoadu-Asmah, a National Service Personnel who served as a Teaching Assistant at the University of Cape Coast. Mr. Amoadu-Asmah sadly lost his life in a fatal accident that occurred on the morning of Tuesday, 28th April 2026. The solemn gathering brought together family members, colleagues, students, friends, and sympathizers to mourn the untimely passing of the deceased and to offer support and comfort to the bereaved family during this difficult time. Representing the Director-General of the National Service Authority, Ms. Ruth Dela Seddoh, the Central Regional Director, Abdul Karim Rahman, attended the observation and conveyed the heartfelt condolences of the Authority to the grieving family. As a gesture of compassion and support, he also presented a donation to the family on behalf of the Authority. The National Service Authority extends its deepest sympathies to the family, friends, and loved ones of Mr. Peter Amoadu-Asmah and continues to pray for strength, comfort, and peace for all affected by this tragic loss.
