I wrote a very mean-spirited joke about Graham Linehan. #justjokes #belfast #comedy #ironbar

Can't see this guy's name now without thinking of an absolutely incredible standup bit about nearly having a teenage holiday romance with him

the central banks are getting increasingly desperate so they'll take increasingly drastic measures, some coordinated, to contain this financial panic, but it's no Bretton Woods III; BW was a planned framework, this is just haphazard blundering from one crisis to the next
We didn’t just discover the lowest comfortable reserve level. We bulldozed right through it. Coordinated swap lines, and hints of Bretton Woods III in the making.

To be fair to Summers, inconsistent and patronising language is a perfect match for his worldview and scientific discipline.

RT @NewLeftEViews: This piece has it backwards: it is in the absence of productive growth, which the UK struggles to generate for a variety…

There are almost 14 million people in poverty, over 700,000 workers on strike, over 2,500 foodbanks, warm hubs, a punishing social ‘security’ system. The list of suffering is endless and this is the response from the Labour Party. Shameful.
Let’s admit it, it’s just not working.

You can't win on your opponent's rhetorical terrain. Morally and strategically bankrupt. Labour are the absolute worst.

This is as deep a threat to the rules-based international order as anything China is doing…unless it’s not actually the rules you care about, but who rules
If you come to the UK illegally: ➡️ You can’t claim asylum ➡️ You can’t benefit from our modern slavery protections ➡️ You can’t make spurious human rights claims ➡️ You can’t stay

In what is essentially a long-form set, this is one of the few jokes that can be properly clipped and shared. It's also one of my faves.
