This is the advice I’d give my kids if they were getting into ui/ux design

Crafted Seattle by UserTesting May 28th! AI is making design faster, but faster doesn’t always mean better. I’ll be there, hanging out in the Design Workshop and exploring how AI can actually support better design decisions with real human feedback. Come join me in Seattle and save your seat! #usertesting #uxr #ad

Last week, I built a better first time user experience → got my 1st user (my mom 😭) → rebuilt everything anyway. Then started working on redesigning and rebuilding the app that started everything for me: TaskTree

Made squidward follow my cursor using data binding in rive no heavy state machine logic… just passing mouse position straight through. But! State Machine is a bit easier to work with. Just pass a few numbers and you’re blending state animations together.

I think I’m a designer who accidentally became an animator. Rive for product — SVGs, nested components, stacked animations running smooth on mobile. Social videos go QuickTime → Premiere → AE for the zoomies. And lately I’ve been doing full keyframe animation in After Effects.

I built an app to fix my inner voice. After a week of daily affirmations and hearing myself tell me how awesome I am, I feel unstoppable...ish

real builders iterate with intention. they have taste. they test before they ship, not after they regret it. i spent years handing off designs and moving on before they were real. by the time something worked, fixing it felt like failure. the label is the easy part. the process is the whole thing.

If you’re a product designer, empty state mapping is so easy now with the Claude code to Figma MCP workflow.

Every empty state, secondary state, and error state imported into an editable canvas automatically. We don't have to map this stuff out manually anymore. Just ask for it, iterate on it, done. I was initially a bit negative on Paper, but this is a game changing workflow!

Paper is out and it connects Claude directly to your design canvas so you skip the back and forth entirely. Just prompt for a design, get it dropped into an editable canvas. The outputs are pretty impressive out of the box, but the interface isn’t nearly as smooth as Figma and it has no components no tabs wtf??
