Reform UK Council Grifter in Northumberland. Councillor Shaun Knowles turned up to a meeting yesterday for the first time in just under 6 months. This means he avoids disqualification by just a few days and keeps his councillor salary. It’s also being reported that he is unresponsive to contact and has not been seen in his ward.

So what Reform policy seems to boil down to now is:- The young paid less The old paid less The disabled paid less The sick and mentally ill got back to work and paid less The black and brown people deported The rich can do what the hell they like Have I got this right so far?

If you want to know why this country is skint, it's nothing to do with immigrants, it's because the Tories spent 14 years finding ways to give all our money to their mates. Reform would give it to themselves

Just so deeply depressing. If Ministers can’t support something as simple as swift bricks, which can have an amazing impact for swifts, then what hope is there for more complex measures? They just don’t care
BAD NEWS💔if the vote had taken place earlier we would have won-Tories (majority) whipped YES but by the time of the vote, support had gone home just like 2 years ago. It is an AGONISING reality. Tell steve.reed.mp@parliament.uk what you think. GUTTED. Labour: what a betrayal 😡

Quite… Trump at 67pc disapproval because people are feeling the difference between words and reality… we have the luxury of seeing it in real time so let’s heed it!!

If this is what happens when Reform runs a council, just imagine Farage running the country. Care homes closed and vulnerable people abandoned. We cannot let Trump’s America become Farage’s Britain.

This is appalling. What on earth was the reason for the three-line whip to vote this down? The Labour party supported the swift brick amendment when it was tabled on Conservative government legislation in 2023. Has the government offered an explanation for blocking it now?
#birds Swifts fly thousands of miles to breed in the UK—only to find their nest sites blocked up. Their ancient forests with nest hollows now gone, they relied on cavities in buildings, but these, too, have disappeared. To stop their steep 2/3rds decline since 1995, an inexpensive swift brick nest box was proposed to be incorporated by law into new buildings—also helping other red-listed cavity nesting bird species. But in a vote last night, UK Labour destroyed a golden opportunity to do this small thing for one of the most nature-depleted countries in Europe.

Huge admiration and respect for Hillsborough families who fought so long and hard to change the law. And Starmer can be proud, whatever his other problems, that he is the PM delivering the change.
