This physics II course is 90% unit conversion garbage. Very little actual modeling of the problem and so very little opportunity to get an intuition of the physical picture. Also SI units are fucking stupid to start with. We should do everything in natural units first.

It presents a better physical picture by not obscuring the dimensions. You need to start from Length, Mass, and Time, and develop all of the other units from powers and ratios of those bases. This is the only way to understand.

Before this we received frontier updates at a satiating pace. If these constraints remain, it won't be long before greater than mythos open models. The gift of fire has already been given. Constraints create evolutionary pressure. This is the best possible outcome for open models.

feeling really good about getting this spec'd out m5 macbook a few months ago. couldn't justify making the switch to all local models back then but sure can now. only really using them for math/physics QA anymore, undergrad level stuff, so shouldn't have any issues.

Taking an accelerated Calc and Physics course(time equivalent to a full 12 or 13 credit load) has been really good for my learning style. Balls deep sprints into topics for a couple months. Just have to maintain mental fluidity for concept absorption. Its not about trying hard, its passive. You have to allow yourself to do it, not force yourself to do it. You can't force it.

I quit my tech job a month ago. Stopped using claude. Only use ChatGPT(plus) from the browser to do math and physics QA. Only to enrich my own understanding. I can do because I understand. This is the limit of what I allow models to do for me at this point.
