I think the @nymproject folks made a really wise pivot here away from purely a mixnet (something with very limited real-world use, even if extremely valuable) to utilizing the same set of servers for a two-hop VPN services and a mixnet.
Testing their new service out and the Wireguard option has been fantastic so far, though I need to test the mixnet option more.
The perfect combination will be "split-tunneling" where you can select what each app or site uses between the Wireguard two-hop VPN and the full mixnet. Excited for that!
