STUDIO // Recall What’s the most prominent piece of music from your childhood that stirs emotions. We just watched an episode of ‘The World at War’ with its score by Carl Davis. Created by Jeremy Issacs for Thames Television, Narrated by Laurence Olivier and Directed by David Elstein. It’s probably the greatest documentation of conflict ever produced. I remember the TV being wheeled into history class and this being played, we watched all 26 episodes over the first year of high school. That score piece has stuck with me since the age of 11 and has haunted me ever since. The Trinnov MCPro 32 Dante The Grace Design M908 Dante The Trinnov MCPro for anyone who hasn’t heard one, is the ultimate room management system. Once setup with its 3D microphone, it takes 5mins to calibrate the entire Dolby Atmos 9.6.4 system. It’s immediate, true and gives nothing more than a night and day approach to room correction. I know without question, and can trust that what we hear is right. The unit is amazing and even though one of their older models, I will never go back. Walking around the room with a microphone for an hour with Sonarworks is a thing of the past. Again, 5mins… we are done. As for the Grace Design M908, its power is staggering. With its desktop controller and web based interface, you have the control to manage feeds and monitor arrays instantly. From stereo to 5.1 to 7.2.1 to 9.6.4 with total immediacy. These two, have revolutionised my workflow and through Dante they simply run on voodoo speed. For anyone looking to correct there room, the Trinnov algorithms are the best you can find.
