So if every normal controller ever been made uses the same thumbstick tech, then why is drift is only really a problem more recently? My xbox controllers and nunchucks I've had since I was a wee lad still work fine, I don't get it

On the one hand, I get why 10 oversaturation is an issue (I've heard that he basically became a re-occurring character in 13's comic run).
But I do think that part of the problem is simply that 13's TV run recycled so much from the Tennant years. It didn't do itself any favours.
