They should re-purpose the George Mikan Trophy. He won the first NBA title (and four of the first five) and was the first commissioner of the ABA. Kind of a founding father of both leagues.

With NBA trophies named for Russell, Bird, Magic, and Jordan … the championship hardware (Larry O’Brien) needs to reconsidered. Among commissioners, David Stern far more significant.

During the segment on the Colonels I got to see my mom watch proudly as a tear rolled down her cheek.

Two years ago today, Ellie Brown, John Y Brown III, Rebecca Brown, Pink Gardner, Van Vance, Darnell Hillman, Joe Hamilton, Scott Tarter and Joe’s significant other got together to experience Soul Power for the first time from Louisville, KY. 🙏

Long past time for the NBA to include ABA statistics, as the NFL did for the AFL when they merged.
OTD in 1966, the AFL and NFL football leagues agreed to merge. It would take until 1970 for the leagues to fully integrate.
As part of the integration process, AFL records and stats were combined with the NFL data.
When will the NBA finally include ABA stats in its records?!
