Pay on the Hill is notoriously low at all levels, and raising wages across the board is critical for attracting and retaining talent. But there are staffers making $30k in one of the most expensive cities in the US. Public service is a privilege not many people can afford.
Snaps for standard onboarding training, HIR reforms, and better communications b/w constituents and their reps! However, we'd love to see a salary floor for junior staff that is mandatory instead of voluntary.
