A federal search warrant was served Wednesday at the GKN Aerospace facility in Garden Grove, where a compromised tank carrying a toxic chemical forced the evacuation of tens of thousands of residents last month.
"When there is a failure in the tanks, and it caused a massive evacuation, impacting 50,000 residents, we have an obligation to figure out whether any crimes were committed," said First Assistant U.S. Attorney Bill Essayli. "We want to know exactly what happened." abc7.la/6KY1vB

In an apparent positive sign in Garden Grove, AIR7 video shows no water being actively sprayed on the unstable chemical tank at the center of a multi-day crisis that triggered evacuations for thousands of Orange County residents. Crews were also seen walking around and climbing the tank.

UPDATE: AIR7 shows water is no longer being applied to the Garden Grove tank in crisis.
Earlier today, the chief told us this was a critical test to determine whether the tank’s temperature would remain stable on its own - without the water.
Once they get the answer to that question, they can reevaluate evacuation zones once again.
