Teachers are often directed to approach instruction in ways we KNOW will not be effective. We see funds spent on resources we know aren’t any better than the one before. So when you meet specialists that get kids, and care about how they learn, it hits. We see you @gregtangmath

Unpopular opinion but, as a teacher, the amount of wedding and baby shower gifts I’ve contributed to for people I hardly know that don’t stay on my campus very long is staggering for someone who has two side hustles to pay their mortgage. Ladies-can we stop this madness? #IATA

I wish there was more coverage of the horrible things happening with Greg Abbott’s takeover of the Houston schools.
Teachers are being given scripted lessons, with a timer that dings every four minutes for students to bubble in answers on a sheet.

When teachers say that leaving teaching is “the hardest thing I’ve ever had to do”— believe them, because it is.
Why? Because when a teacher quits or resigns— you may see it as someone leaving a job, but we see it as letting down our students and their families.
